I don't know this blogger, but ran across this post yesterday. The woman's daughter's teacher asked to speak to her after school. The entire post is more detailed, but this is what the teacher wanted to tell the mom. It was very touching:
“I joined the kids at recess today to play kickball and was so in awe of your daughter. One of our autistic kids wanted to play but didn’t get it. His aide was there helping him, but it just wasn’t working. He’d kick the ball but couldn’t grasp what to do next. Ashlyn was amazing; she went right up to him, stood by home plate, and told him to hold her hand. She ran with him around the bases. The aide and I were stunned. It was just amazing, and I just wanted to tell you that.”

Covered Up With Goldfinches
We are inundated with goldfinches right now. Brilliant summer male goldfinches. There are females also - but they're not as photogenic.
Taken from less of a zoom angle, but there are finches from left to right - on the tree, two at the tube feeder, and one at the smaller feeder. There were as many as six or seven at a time, but I couldn't get them all in a shot.
