For some reason my computer at home does not want to let me sign in lately.
Tuesday night Andrew won 1st place in the Anderson County Historical Society essay contest. He read his essay out loud and he did so well. (I am completely objective.) Along with the 1st place goes $1000 for college expenses, which will really, really come in handy. It was also nice to reconnect with several of our roots in this town--such as Mike's dad's cousin, who knows much about the family that we need to learn. We plan to get with him soon, maybe when all this hoopla is over.
And there is a lot of hoopla when a child is graduating, as well as the normal end-of-the-school-year things. Today is yearbooks, tomorrow night is junior-senior banquet, next week spring concert & last week of classes, then exam week, senior trip, then baccalaureate and graduation. I feel like I don't even really have time to ponder the enormity of the event. And how shall I plan a post-graduation party; there are several options to consider. Not to mention Mike starts working an outage on Saturday. AARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!
